Governance Evolution

Amarenco evolves its governance to support its strategic and regenerative roadmap: Alain Desvigne becomes President and Frédéric Maenhaut is appointed CEO

In the context of a profound transformation of the European energy model and following the roadmap unveiled in September 2024, Amarenco—one of the key players in renewable energy production and storage in France, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, and Austria—is adapting its governance to fully support its ambitions for sustainable growth and regeneration.

In response to the growing needs of all stakeholders—both internal and external—and to continue the transition from a co-founder-led governance to a more structural and collaborative approach based on its management team and broader involvement of all employees, while supporting its ambition to accelerate its regenerative trajectory, amarenco announces a new executive governance structure.

Amarenco wins almost 30 MW of solar projects in Ireland

Amarenco has secured nearly 30 MW of solar projects in Ireland through the RESS 4 auction!

We are excited to announce that we won 5 new solar projects under Ireland’s fourth Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS 4), located in Midleton, Ennistymon, Cobh, Timoleague, and Carrigaline, totaling 29.84 MW.
This follows our previous success of securing 45 MW under RESS 2.

🌱 The Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS), a Government of Ireland initiative, is crucial in achieving Ireland’s goal of 80% renewable electricity by 2030. The scheme not only supports renewable projects but is also a cornerstone of Ireland’s Climate Action Plan 2021 and the Programme for Government.

We are thrilled to be contributing to a greener future, helping to meet Ireland’s ambitious climate targets. RESS plays a pivotal role in laying the foundation for a thriving, cost-effective renewable electricity market that drives economic growth, creates sustainable jobs, and ultimately benefits consumers as renewable energy becomes more affordable.

A special thanks to the entire Amarenco Ireland team for their incredible support and dedication in bringing this achievement to life!

Signing the EU Solar Charter

On the 15th of april 2024, @Frederic Maenhaut travelled to Brussels to sign the EU Solar Charter, a government initiative aimed at boosting European production of photovoltaic panels.

Under the impetus of Roland Lescure, the French Minister for Industry and Energy, and Bruno Le Maire, the French Minister for the Economy, the charter aims to ensure that 30% of panel orders go to European producers by 2025. An “Induscore” rating system, comparable to Nutriscore, will be introduced to identify manufacturers complying with these European production standards.

With more than 100 signatories, including Amarenco, and the support of industry federations, the Solar Pact aims to meet the industrial challenge of the photovoltaic sector, by consolidating the economic and industrial sovereignty of the European Union.
